al-Aswad, from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allāh, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it without the addition. It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym (5/58). And this ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd, Ibn ʿAdī and Ibn Ḥibbān said: he used to steal ḥadīth. As for the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, it is narrated by al-Muʿallá ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān: Ibn Abī Dhīʾb told us from Nāfiʿ from him with it, and it includes the addition: Ibn ʿAsākir added at its beginning "these two sons of mine." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (3/167) and Ibn ʿAsākir (4/256/1). Al-Ḥākim mentioned it as a witness to the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd, but it is not suitable for that, as it is very weak, and for this reason, al-Dhahabī followed it with his statement: "I say: al-Muʿallá is abandoned." As for the ḥadīth of al-Barāʾ, al-Haythamī said (9/184): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its isnād is good." I did not see it in "his large Muʿjam," neither in "the Musnad of al-Barāʾ" from it, nor in the biography of al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhumā), where he listed the preceding ḥadīths, and Ibn ʿAsākir recorded it (4/256/1) and it includes Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd, who is al-Rāzī, and he is weak as in "al-Taqrīb."
