I say: This isnād is authentic, its narrators are trustworthy, the men of "al-Ṣaḥīḥ" except for Maysarah, who is Ibn Ḥabīb and he is trustworthy. Al-Ḥākim authenticated the addition (3 - 151) and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. Second: Aḥmad said (5 / 392): ʾAswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us: Isrāʾīl narrated to us from Ibn Abī al-Safar from al-Shaʿbī from him, he said: he mentioned something similar without the addition and said: "He said: Ḥudhayfah said: Seek forgiveness for me and my mother. He said: May Allāh forgive you, O Ḥudhayfah, and your mother." I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and the name of Ibn Abī al-Safar is ʿAbd Allāh. It was also narrated by Ibn ʿAsākir through Aḥmad's route. Third: From al-Musayyab ibn Waḍiḥ, ʿAṭāʾ ibn Muslim al-Khuffāf Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥalabī informed us from Abū ʿAmr al-Ashjaʿī from Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd from Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim from him with something similar. And he added: "ʿAṭāʾ said: And they told us that he said: And their father is better than them." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī and Ibn ʿAsākir. This isnād is acceptable in supporting narrations and follow-ups. Al-Musayyab ibn Waḍiḥ has poor memory, and his teacher al-Khuffāf is similar, but I did not find anyone who translated Abū ʿAmr al-Ashjaʿī.
