Abū Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): and he mentioned it. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (2/367), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (12/18/2), al-Qaḍāʿī (14/1), and al-Khaṭīb in "Tārīkh" (2/271-272) through other routes from Abū Maʿshar with it. I said: This isnād has weakness due to Abū Maʿshar's poor memory, and the statement of al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (3/281): "Its isnād is ḥasan." Similarly, his teacher al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/151) that perhaps they intended it for support, otherwise al-Ḥāfiẓ himself had criticized Abū Maʿshar's weakness in "al-Taqrīb." It has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Abū ʿAbd al-Ghaffār ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿĪsá - a Basran - named by his son in Egypt at Ibn ʿUfayr - who said: I heard Anas ibn Mālik saying in a marfūʿ manner with the wording: "Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, even if he is a disbeliever, for there is no barrier between it and Allāh." It was recorded by Ibn Maʿīn in "al-Tārīkh" (10/157/1), and from him by al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná" (2/73), and al-Qaḍāʿī in "Musnad al-Shihāb" (p. 81/2). I said: Its narrators are trustworthy except for this Abū ʿAbd al-Ghaffār, as he is unknown, as mentioned in the kuná "al-Mīzān" and "al-Lisān," and they did not name him explicitly. So take this as a benefit: he is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿĪsá, and their predecessor in this was Abū Ḥātim as mentioned in his son's book (4/2/406). And he said in the section of names (2/2/272): "ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿĪsá, narrated from al-Zuhrī. Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb narrated from ʿImrān ibn Sulaym from him. I asked my father about him? He said: Unknown."
