Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar al-Madāʾinī also followed him, narrating from al-ʿAlāʾ with it. However, he stopped it at Abū Hurayrah, but it is considered as elevated [to the Prophet] as is apparent. It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (305/2) and Ibn Khuzaymah in "Ḥadīth ʿAlī ibn Ḥujr" (vol. 3, no. 15 - my copy) and from him by Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (16/176/2). I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and Abū Yaʿlá has narrated many ḥadīths with this isnād, most of which are in "Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim." 2 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd, it is narrated by ʿAṭiyyah from him. It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/80), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/191-192), and also by Tamām, al-Bayhaqī, Ibn ʿAsākir, and al-Ḥākim (4/480) as a witness for the following ḥadīth. 3 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Dharr, it is narrated by Sharīk ibn ʿAbd Allāh from al-Aʿmash from Shaqīq ibn Salamah from Ḥalām ibn Jazal al-Ghifārī who said: I heard Abū Dharr Jundub ibn Junādah al-Ghifārī say: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/479-480) who said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And I say: Sharīk has poor memory and Muslim did not rely on him. And Ḥalām ibn Jazal, in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" (1/2/308): "Jazal" with a zāy, and perhaps that is correct, and he said: "Abū al-Ṭufayl narrated from him." He did not mention any criticism or commendation about him. I say: The man is unknown, and he is not among the narrators of Muslim
