from the route of Abū Marḥūm ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Maymūn, from Sahl ibn Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. al-Tirmidhī said: "It is a ḥasan ḥadīth, and the meaning of his saying (garments of faith) refers to what the people of faith are given from the garments of Paradise." al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: The view closer to correctness is that it is ḥasan as al-Tirmidhī said, for there is some discussion about Abū Marḥūm, but it does not harm his ḥadīth as I have clarified in "al-Irwāʾ" (1989). Especially since he was not alone in narrating it, but was followed by Zabān ibn Fāʾid from Sahl ibn Muʿādh with it. Narrated by Aḥmad (3/438), Abū Nuʿaym, and also al-Ḥākim (1/61), who mentioned it as a witness and said: "Zabān is unique in narrating it!" This is what he said, and it seems he forgot the previous route of Abū Marḥūm. Zabān has weakness due to his memory. He was followed by Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān from Sahl ibn Muʿādh with it. Narrated by Abū Nuʿaym (8/47) from the route of Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd, from Ibrāhīm ibn Adham, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān. Baqiyyah is a mudallis and has used the ambiguous term. He was followed by Khayr ibn Naʿīm from Sahl ibn Muʿādh with it. Also narrated by Abū Nuʿaym from the route of Ibn Lahīʿah from him
من طريق أبي مرحوم عبد الرحيم بن ميمون عن سهل بن معاذ بن أنس الجهني عن أبيه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: فذكره. وقال الترمذي: " حديث حسن، ومعنى قوله (حلل الإيمان) يعني ما يعطى أهل الإيمان من حلل الجنة ". وقال الحاكم: " صحيح الإسناد ". ووافقه الذهبي. قلت: والأقرب إلى الصواب أنه حسن كما قال الترمذي، فإن في أبي مرحوم بعض الكلام، لكنه لا يضر في حديثه كما بينته في " الإرواء " (١٩٨٩). لاسيما ولم يتفرد به، بل تابعه زبان بن فائد عن سهل بن معاذ به. أخرجه أحمد (٣ / ٤٣٨) وأبو نعيم والحاكم أيضا (١ / ٦١) ذكره شاهدا وقال: " يتفرد به زبان "! كذا قال، وكأنه نسي طريق أبي مرحوم المتقدمة. وزبان فيه ضعف من قبل حفظه. وتابعه محمد بن عجلان عن سهل بن معاذ به. أخرجه أبو نعيم (٨ / ٤٧) من طريق بقية بن الوليد عن إبراهيم بن أدهم عن محمد بن عجلان. وبقية مدلس وقد عنعنه. وتابعه خير بن نعيم عن سهل بن معاذ به. أخرجه أبو نعيم أيضا من طريق ابن لهيعة عنه.
