"Abū al-Dardāʾ wrote to Salmān: As for what follows, my brother, take advantage of your health before your illness, and your free time before a calamity descends that no one among the people can repel. And my brother, take advantage of the prayer of the afflicted believer. And my brother, let the mosque be your home, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say..." and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād has trustworthy men, so it is good except for the break between al-Rabīʿ and Abū al-Dardāʾ, as he did not hear from him nor from any other Companion. However, when combined with the first connected path, the ḥadīth gains strength and rises to the level of ḥasan, if Allāh wills. Ibn al-Jawzī also reported it in "Ṣifat al-Ṣafwah" (1/198/1) from the path of ʿAbd al-Razzāq, who narrated to us from Maʿmar from a companion of his that Abū al-Dardāʾ wrote to Salmān with it.
