"He used to take a tuft of wool from the side of a camel from the spoils and say: I have no more right to it than any of you. Beware of misappropriation, for it is a disgrace for its owner on the Day of Resurrection. Return the thread and the needle, and anything above that, and strive in the path of Allāh, whether near or far, in residence or travel, for jihād is a gate from the gates of Paradise. Indeed, Allāh, Blessed and Exalted, saves through it from worry and distress. Establish the limits of Allāh with those near and far, and do not be deterred by the blame of the blamer in [the matters of] Allāh." It was recorded by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad (4/330) who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālim al-Kūfī al-Maflūj narrated to us — and he was trustworthy — who narrated to us from ʿUbaydah ibn al-Aswad from al-Qāsim ibn al-Walīd from Abū Ṣādiq from Rabīʿah ibn Nājid from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. And this isnād consists of trustworthy men except for Rabīʿah ibn Nājid, about whom it is said in "al-Khulāṣah": "Only Abū Ṣādiq al-Azdī narrated from him." And no criticism or endorsement is mentioned about him. Al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mīzān": "He is hardly known." As for al-Ḥāfiẓ, he said in "al-Taqrīb": "He is trustworthy." And I do not know his basis for that, and I see it as nothing but a mistake from him, may Allāh have mercy on him. Then the ḥadīth was narrated by Ibn Mājah (2/111-112) from it, his saying: "Establish the limits of Allāh," etc., with the isnād of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad. And he said in "al-Zawāʾid":
