"this isnād has trustworthy men." Similarly, al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (1/160), but he noted a defect due to the break in the chain between Abū Ayyūb and Ibn ʿAmr, which is unfounded. And Allāh knows best. There is another chain for it, recorded by Aḥmad (2/208) from ʿAlī ibn Zayd, from Muṭarrif ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Shikhkhīr, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr. This isnād is acceptable for supporting evidence; all its narrators are trustworthy except for ʿAlī ibn Zayd, who is Ibn Judʿān, and he has some weakness due to his memory.

- "The people of migration have taken what it contains." Al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (3/252) and al-Ḥākim (3/316) through two chains from Zuhayr ibn Muʿāwiyah: ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal narrated to us from Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī, who said: "Majāshiʿ ibn Masʿūd said: 'I came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with my brother Mujālid after the conquest, and I said: O Messenger of Allāh, I have brought my brother Mujālid to pledge allegiance to you for migration.' He said: (and he mentioned it), so I said: On what will you pledge allegiance to him, O Messenger of Allāh? He said: I will pledge allegiance to him for Islam, faith, and jihād." The context is from al-Ḥākim, and both he and al-Dhahabī remained silent on it. Al-Ṭaḥāwī added: "He said: I met Muʿabbad afterward - and he was the elder of the two - and I asked him, and he said: Majāshiʿ spoke the truth." I say: Its isnād is authentic.
