"The one who eats and is grateful is like the one who fasts and is patient." However, there is a disagreement in its isnād, as ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī al-Muqaddamī said: I heard Maʿn ibn Muḥammad narrating from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī who said: "I was with Ḥanẓalah in al-Baqīʿ with Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), and Abū Hurayrah narrated to us in al-Baqīʿ from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said" and he mentioned it. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/136) and he said: "Its isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said. I said: Al-Muqaddamī disagreed, making his follower Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd, not Abū Saʿīd, and this is more likely in my opinion because he is more reliable than Muḥammad ibn Maʿn al-Ghifārī, and he was followed, as Aḥmad (2/283) said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Maʿmar narrated to us from al-Zuhrī from a man from Banī Ghifār that he heard Saʿīd al-Maqburī narrating from Abū Hurayrah with it
