It was also recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/345) through another route from al-Walīd with it, except for the second part of it.

It was recorded by al-Kharāʾiṭī in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" (8/230/2) from Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ from Ibn Abī Laylá from al-Ḥakam from Abū Jaʿfar, the client of Banū Hāshim, from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: and he mentioned it as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is weak, due to Qays and his teacher, as they are weak in terms of memory.
