due to suspicion in his truthfulness, but rather due to weakness in his memory, and likewise his teacher Yazīd ibn Abān al-Raqāshī. Ibn ʿAdī said about him: "He has sound ḥadīths from Anas and others, and I hope there is no harm in him because trustworthy narrators have reported from him." He also said about Khalīl: "I have not seen any objectionable ḥadīth in his narrations that has exceeded the limit, and he is among those whose ḥadīth is written, and he is not one whose ḥadīth is abandoned." I said: So like them, even though their ḥadīth is not used as evidence, it is used as supporting evidence. And it has come through another chain from Anas which is better than this one, so their combination strengthens the ḥadīth and elevates it to the level of ḥasan, and its wording is: "Whoever Allāh grants a righteous wife, He has helped him with half of his religion, so let him fear Allāh in the second half." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (3/161/1) and al-Ḥākim (2/161) from ʿAmr ibn Abī Salamah al-Tanīsī, who said: Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed me—al-Ḥākim added: ibn Zayd—from Anas ibn Mālik that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "The chain is authentic, and this ʿAbd al-Raḥmān is Ibn Zayd ibn ʿUqbah al-Azraq, a trustworthy and reliable Madinan." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. He said: And Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad is Abū al-Mundhir al-Khurāsānī al-Shāmī, mentioned by al-Dhahabī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" and he said: "Trustworthy but has some leniency." In "al-Taqrīb": "The narrations of the people of al-Shām from him are not correct, so he was weakened because of them, al-Bukhārī said about Aḥmad
