- "I was only sent to perfect noble (and in another narration, righteous) character." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" number (273), Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (1/192), al-Ḥākim (2/613), Aḥmad (2/318), and Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (6/267/1) through the route of Ibn ʿAjlān from al-Qaʿqāʿ ibn Ḥakīm from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurayrah, attributed [to the Prophet]. This isnād is good, and al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him! Ibn ʿAjlān was only narrated by Muslim in conjunction with others. It has a corroborating narration, recorded by Ibn Wahb in "al-Jāmiʿ" (p. 75): Hishām ibn Saʿd informed me from Zayd ibn Aslam, attributed [to the Prophet]. This is a mursal with a good isnād, thus the ḥadīth is authentic. It was also narrated by Mālik in "al-Muwaṭṭaʾ" (2/904/8) as a report. Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: "It is a ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth connected through authentic routes from Abū Hurayrah and others."

- "These for this and these for that." It was narrated by al-Mukhliṣ in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (vol. 1/34/2), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 73) from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar, attributed [to the Prophet] with the addition: "So the people dispersed, and they do not differ regarding destiny." Its isnād is authentic.
