ʿAsākir (11/328/2) from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Thābit ibn Thawbān narrated to me by ʿAṭāʾ ibn Qurrah from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḍumrah from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was mentioned in the biography of this ʿAṭāʾ, and it was narrated from ʿAlī, who is Ibn al-Madīnī, that he said: "I do not know him," and from Abū Zurʿah that he said: "He was among the best servants of Allāh." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" and al-Tirmidhī deemed him reliable, and in "al-Taqrīb" it is stated that he is truthful. al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic." al-Dhahabī agreed with him, but it is only ḥasan.

- "When he intended to prostrate, he would say the takbīr and then prostrate, and when he rose from the sitting position, he would say the takbīr and then stand."
