"and the ḥadīth has supporting mursal reports!" Then he mentioned two mawqūf supporting reports! Thus, he missed these many connected supporting reports. Success is granted by Allāh.

"The first book was revealed in one mode and on one letter, and the Quran was revealed in seven modes on seven letters: prohibition, command, lawful, unlawful, clear, ambiguous, and parables. So, make lawful what it makes lawful, and make unlawful what it makes unlawful, and do what you are commanded, and refrain from what you are forbidden, and take lessons from its parables, and act upon its clear verses, and believe in its ambiguous ones, and say: * 'We believe in it; all is from our Lord' *." It was recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (4/184-185), al-Ḥākim (1/553), Ibn Ḥibbān (1782), and al-Harawī in "Dhamm al-Kalām" (Q 62/2) through various routes from Ḥayyawah ibn Sharīḥ from ʿUqayl ibn Khālid from Salamah ibn Abī Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from Ibn Masʿūd from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād was declared "authentic" by al-Ḥākim, and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, except for Salamah, whom Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned and narrated from his father that he said: "There is no harm in him." However, al-Ṭaḥāwī criticized it for being disconnected, as he mentioned it afterward through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ who said: al-Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to me, saying: ʿUqayl ibn Khālid narrated to me from Ibn Shihāb who said: Salamah ibn Abī Salamah informed me (from his father) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), then he mentioned this ḥadīth without mentioning ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd. Then al-Ṭaḥāwī said: "Ḥayyawah and al-Layth differed from ʿUqayl in its isnād, as each of them narrated it as we mentioned in his narration from him, and the scholars of isnād rejected this isnād due to its disconnection in its isnād,
