- "A man will be pledged allegiance to between the Corner and the Station, and the House will not be violated except by its own people. When they violate it, do not ask about the destruction of the Arabs. Then the Abyssinians will come and destroy it completely, never to be rebuilt, and they are the ones who will extract its treasure." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/291, 312, 328, 351) through various chains from Ibn Abī Dhīʾb from Saʿīd ibn Samʿān who said: I heard Abū Hurayrah informing Abū Qatādah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic; its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for Saʿīd ibn Samʿān, and he is trustworthy. Therefore, the ḥāfiẓ remained silent about it in "al-Fatḥ" (3/362) after attributing it to Aḥmad.

- "He would not break his fast on the white days whether at home or traveling." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī in his "Sunan" (1/321): al-Qāsim ibn Zakariyyā informed us, saying: ʿUbayd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Yaʿqūb narrated to us from Jaʿfar from Saʿīd from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: and he mentioned it as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is good; all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for Yaʿqūb and Jaʿfar, the narrators from Saʿīd, who is Ibn Jubayr. As for the first, he is Yaʿqūb ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Saʿd al-Qummī, and as for the latter, he is Jaʿfar ibn Abī al-Mughīrah al-Qummī. The ḥāfiẓ said about each of them: "Trustworthy but errs," and al-Dhahabī said about the latter: "Trustworthy." Regarding the first: "The scholar of the people of (Qum), al-Nasāʾī and others said: There is nothing wrong with him. Al-Dāraqutnī said: He is not strong. I say: al-Bukhārī included him in a suspended form." It was also recorded by al-Ḍiyāʾ al-Maqdisī in "al-Mukhtārah" (59/212/1) through another route from him.
