- "The best form of jihad is when one's horse is wounded and one's blood is shed." It was recorded by Aḥmad through two chains from ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah, raised [to the Prophet] in the midst of a ḥadīth previously mentioned and its sourcing in the one before it. This portion is considered good due to the combination of the two chains.
- "The best form of migration is to abandon what your Lord dislikes." It was recorded by Aḥmad through two chains from ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah, raised [to the Prophet] in the midst of a ḥadīth previously mentioned and its sourcing before a ḥadīth. This portion is also considered good due to the combination of the two chains.
- "Faith is patience and generosity." It was recorded by Aḥmad from the ḥadīth of Abū Umāmah, and by Ibn Abī Shaybah and Ibn Abī al-Dunyā and others through two chains from Jābir as previously explained before two ḥadīths.
- "I advise you to have taqwá of Allāh, for it is the foundation of everything. And adhere to jihad, for it is the monasticism of Islam. And adhere to the remembrance of Allāh and the recitation of the Qurʾān, for it is your spirit in the heavens and your mention on earth." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/82) [who] narrated to us from Ḥusayn, who narrated from Ibn ʿAyyāsh, meaning Ismāʿīl, from al-Ḥajjāj ibn Marwān al-Kalāʿī and ʿUqayl ibn Mudrik al-Sulamī from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī that a man came to him and said: "Advise me." He said: "You asked about what I asked the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) before you," and then he mentioned it. I said: Its narrators are trustworthy except for al-Ḥajjāj ibn Marwān al-Kalāʿī, who was said in "al-Taʿjīl": "He is not well-known." I said: He is paired with ʿUqayl ibn Mudrik al-Sulamī, and three trustworthy people narrated from him. Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt," but it is derived from his biography there (2/233) and from "al-Tahdhīb" that he is from the followers of the followers, as it was said about him after mentioning a group of the followers he narrated from: "And he transmitted from Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ṣanābīḥī."
