is on the authority of the majority. And Allāh knows best." There is another version of the ḥadīth with different wording, which is: "Do not curse time, for Allāh said: I am time; the days and nights are mine, I renew them and wear them out, and I bring kings after kings."
على ضم الراء. والله أعلم ". وللحديث طريق أخرى بلفظ آخر وهو: " لا تسبوا الدهر، فإن الله ﷿ قال: أنا الدهر الأيام والليالي لي أجددها وأبليها وآتي بملوك بعد ملوك ".
"Do not curse time, for Allāh said: I am time; the days and nights are mine, I renew them and wear them out, and I bring kings after kings." It was narrated by Imām Aḥmad (2/496): Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Hishām ibn Saʿd narrated to us from Zayd ibn Aslam from Dhakwān from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said. I said: This isnād is good and it meets the criteria of Muslim, and there is some discussion regarding Hishām ibn Saʿd that does not harm [the authenticity]. Al-Mundhirī attributed the ḥadīth (3/290) to al-Bayhaqī alone, which is an oversight! Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/71): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, and its men are the men of the ṣaḥīḥ."
" لا تسبوا الدهر، فإن الله ﷿ قال: أنا الدهر: الأيام والليالي ليأجددها وأبليها وآتي بملوك بعد ملوك ". أخرجه الإمام أحمد (٢ / ٤٩٦) : حدثنا ابن نمير حدثنا هشام بن سعد عن زيد بن أسلم عن ذكوان عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ. قلت: وهذا إسناد جيد وهو على شرط مسلم وفي هشام ابن سعد كلام لا يضر. والحديث عزاه المنذري (٣ / ٢٩٠) للبيهقي وحده فقصر! وقال الهيثمي في " المجمع " (٨ / ٧١) : " رواه أحمد ورجاله رجال الصحيح ".
"When my Lord ascended me, I passed by a people with copper nails scratching their faces and chests. I said: Who are these, O Gabriel? He said: These are those who eat the flesh of people and defame their honor." It was narrated by Imām Aḥmad (3/224): Abū al-Mughīrah narrated to us, Ṣafwān narrated to us, Rāshid ibn Saʿd and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jubayr narrated to me from Anas ibn Mālik who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said. He mentioned it. It was also narrated by Abū Dāwūd (4878): Ibn al-Muṣaffá narrated to us, Baqiyyah and Abū al-Mughīrah said: Ṣafwān narrated it to us. Abū Dāwūd said: Yaḥyá ibn ʿUthmān narrated it to us from Baqiyyah without mentioning Anas. ʿĪsá ibn Abī ʿĪsá al-Sulayḥīnī narrated to us from Abū al-Mughīrah as Ibn al-Muṣaffá said. I said: The connected version from the path of Baqiyyah is the correct one because it is the narration of the majority from him and because it agrees with the narration of Abū al-Mughīrah, who is more reliable than him, and his name is ʿAbd al-Quddūs ibn al-Ḥajjāj al-Khūlānī
" لما عرج بي ربي ﷿ مررت بقوم لهم أظفار من نحاس يخمشون وجوههم وصدورهم فقلت: من هؤلاء يا جبريل؟ قال: هؤلاء الذين يأكلون لحوم الناس ويقعون في أعراضهم ". أخرجه الإمام أحمد (٣ / ٢٢٤) : حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا صفوان حدثني راشد بن سعد وعبد الرحمن بن جبير عن أنس بن مالك قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. فذكره. وأخرجه أبو داود (٤٨٧٨) : حدثنا ابن المصفى حدثنا بقية وأبو المغيرة قالا: حدثنا صفوان به. قال أبو داود حدثناه يحيى بن عثمان عن بقية ليس فيه أنس. حدثنا عيسى بن أبي عيسى السليحيني عن أبي المغيرة كما قال ابن المصفى. قلت: والموصول من طريق بقية هو الصواب لأنه رواية الأكثر عنه ولأنه الموافق لرواية أبي المغيرة وهو أوثق منه واسمه عبد القدوس ابن الحجاج الخولاني.
