Then he said, may Allāh have mercy on him: "And the one who denounced it, opposed it, and wrote to warn against it and prohibit it became the jurist and scholar." It is not hidden that the Shaykh (may Allāh have mercy on him) lived in an era where the one who spoke with the Book and the sunnah and called for the rejection of shirk and bidʿah was a stranger among the people. Rather, he was accused of what he (may Allāh have mercy on him) mentioned, such as heresy, madness, and deviating from the ways of the scholars and the method of the people of knowledge. The one who authored works affirming the practices of the general populace, including bidʿah and shirk, and the veneration of others besides Allāh, became the distinguished scholar and the followed imam. The Shaykh (may Allāh have mercy on him) spoke about his time, and Allāh (the Exalted) opened much good after that through the blessing of his call and those who followed him from the imams of the call and the people of knowledge in every era and region. I mean the people of knowledge who follow the Book and the sunnah from the people of sunnah and the community who tread the path of the righteous predecessors. Through their call, the statement with the Book and the sunnah became the proof and evidence, which the souls find peace in. Among the blessings of Allāh is that the Salafi call is sweeping other calls with a clear and overwhelming sweep. This is among the blessings of Allāh (the Exalted) upon this ummah, and it confirms the saying of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "A group of my ummah will continue to be apparent upon the truth, unharmed by those who oppose them or abandon them until the command of Allāh comes while they are upon that." So we ask Allāh (the Exalted) to make us among them and to gather us in their company.
