Among them is their saying: "and from there"
It is originally used for a distant place, and when it appears in their speech, they say: "and from there," or "from here," meaning: "and because of that, such and such happened." If they interpret it as "there," it involves a metaphorical usage in one aspect, which is using it for a metaphorical place. If they interpret it as "here," it involves two metaphorical usages: the first is what was mentioned. The second is its use for something near. However, combining its interpretation as "here," which indicates nearness, with their saying: "because of that," as occurred with the scholar al-Jalāl al-Maḥallī in his commentary on "Jamʿ al-Jawāmiʿ," involves a contradiction, because "that" indicates something distant, unless it is said that "here" is used metaphorically for something distant, and "that" for something near as well. Or it can be said, as some have suggested, that he first pointed with "here" to the nearness of the indicated object due to the proximity of its place and what is understood from it, and secondly with "that" to its distance considering that the meaning is not perceived sensibly, as if it is distant. In the commentary on "al-Tashīl" by al-Damāmīnī, it is stated: "And consider in the saying of the scholars: 'and from there such and such happened,' whether its meaning is 'there,' which indicates distance, or 'here,' which indicates nearness, and the apparent meaning is the second." End.
