(Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī with a good isnād) and sometimes he would add to it, saying: "I seek refuge in Allāh, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the devil..." (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) then he would recite: "In the name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate" and he would not recite it aloud, verse by verse
(أبو داود والترمذي بسند حسن) وكان أحيانا يزيد فيه فيقول: (أعوذ بالله السميع العليم من الشيطان. . .). (البخاري ومسلم) ثم يقرأ: (بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم) ولا يجهر بها القراءة آية آية.
