sufficient to clarify that, and similar things can be said about Imām al-Muzanī and others among the followers of al-Shāfiʿī and others. If we were to provide examples of this, the discussion would become lengthy and we would deviate from our intended brevity in this research. So let us limit ourselves to two examples: 1 - Imām Muḥammad said in his "Muwaṭṭaʾ" (p. 158): (Muḥammad said: As for Abū Ḥanīfah, may Allāh have mercy on him, he did not consider prayer necessary in seeking rain, whereas in our opinion, the imām leads the people in two rakʿahs, then supplicates and turns his cloak) etc. 2 - And this is ʿIṣām ibn Yūsuf al-Balkhī, one of the companions of Imām Muḥammad and a close associate of Imām Abū Yūsuf (he often issued fatwás contrary to the opinion of Imām Abū Ḥanīfah because he did not know the evidence, and another evidence appeared to him, so he issued fatwás based on it. Therefore, (he would raise his hands during bowing and rising from it) as is established in the well-known sunnah from him ﷺ, and he was not prevented from doing so
