3 - (Abū Dāwūd and al-Dāraquṭnī and he authenticated it) Ibn ʿUmar's testimony: from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said in the tashahhud: (All greetings are for Allāh [and] prayers [and] good things. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allāh - Ibn ʿUmar said: I added to it: and His blessings - Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allāh. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allāh - Ibn ʿUmar said: and I added to it: alone, without partner - and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and Messenger). 4 - (Muslim and Abū ʿAwānah) Abū Mūsá al-Ashʿarī's testimony: He said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: (... And when you are at the sitting position, let the first thing one of you says be: All greetings, good things, and prayers are for Allāh. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allāh and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allāh. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allāh [alone, without partner] and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and Messenger [seven words regarding the greeting of prayer]. 5 - (Mālik and al-Bayhaqī with an authentic chain) ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb's testimony, may Allāh be pleased with him, was teaching people the tashahhud while on the pulpit, saying: Say: (All greetings are for Allāh, pure things are for Allāh, good things [are for Allāh].
