the sitting for tashahhud (al-Nasāʾī with a sound chain) then he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would sit for tashahhud after completing the second rakʿah. If the prayer consisted of two rakʿahs, like the morning prayer, (he would sit with his left foot laid flat) (al-Bukhārī and Abū Dāwūd), (just as he would sit between the two prostrations and likewise (he would sit in the first tashahhud) of the three or four rakʿah prayers (Abū Dāwūd and al-Bayhaqī with a good chain). And he instructed the one who performed his prayer poorly, saying to him:
