and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) considered the last two parts as one part in prostration, as [reported by] al-Bukhārī and Muslim: "I have been commanded to prostrate (in another narration: we have been commanded to prostrate) on seven bones: on the forehead"—and he pointed with his hand to his nose—"the hands (in one version: the palms), the knees, and the tips of the feet, and we should not gather the clothes and hair" (Muslim, Abū ʿAwānah, and Ibn Ḥibbān). He would also say: "When the servant prostrates, seven parts prostrate with him: his face, his palms, his knees, and his feet" (Muslim and Abū ʿAwānah). He said regarding a man who prayed with his hair tied behind him: "The example of this is like one who prays while his hands are bound." He also said:
