(al-Bukhārī and Muslim) then (the Prophet ﷺ would raise his back from bowing, saying: "Allāh hears the one who praises Him" (Abū Dāwūd and al-Ḥākim, who authenticated it, and al-Dhahabī agreed). He instructed the one who performed his prayer incorrectly, saying to him: "No one's prayer is complete until... he says the takbīr... then bows... then says: Allāh hears the one who praises Him until he stands upright" (al-Bukhārī and Abū Dāwūd). When he raised his head, he would stand straight until every vertebra returned to its place (al-Bukhārī and Abū Dāwūd). Then (he would say while standing: "Our Lord, to You is due all praise" and he instructed every praying person, whether following an imam or not, saying: "Pray as you have seen me pray" (Muslim, Abū ʿAwānah, Aḥmad, and Abū Dāwūd). He said: "The imam is appointed to be followed... and when he says: Allāh hears the one who praises Him, then say: ([O Allāh] our Lord, to You is due all praise) Allāh hears you, for Allāh ﵎ said through the tongue of His Prophet ﷺ: Allāh hears the one who praises Him)
(البخاري ومسلم) ثم (كان ﷺ يرفع صلبه من الركوع قائلا: (سمع الله لمن حمده) (أبو داود والحاكم وصححه ووافقه الذهبي). وأمر بذلك (المسيء صلاته) فقال له: (لا تتم صلاة لأحد من الناس حتى. . . يكبر. . . ثم يركع. . . ثم يقول: سمع الله لمن حمده حتى يستوي قائما) (البخاري وأبو داود). وكان إذا رفع رأسه استوى حتى يعود كل فقار مكانه (البخاري وأبو داود). ثم (كان يقول وهو قائم: (ربنا [و] لك الحمد) وأمر بذلك كل مصل مؤتما أو غيره فقال: (صلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي) (مسلم وأبو عوانة وأحمد وأبو داود). وكان يقول: (إنما جعل الإمام ليؤتم به. . وإذا قال: سمع الله لمن حمده فقولوا: ( [اللهم] ربنا ولك الحمد) يسمع الله لكم فإن الله ﵎ قال على لسان نبيه ﷺ: سمع الله لمن حمده).
