and in another narration: "It is forbidden for anyone who does not know my evidence to issue a fatwá based on my words." Another narration adds: "For we are human; we say something today and retract it tomorrow." and in another: "Woe to you, O Yaʿqūb (this refers to Abū Yūsuf), do not write down everything you hear from me, for I may hold an opinion today and abandon it tomorrow, and hold an opinion tomorrow and abandon it the day after."
