(Abū Dāwūd, Ibn Ḥibbān, and al-Ṭabarānī) and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) established the practice of prompting the imam if he becomes confused in his recitation, as he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) once prayed and became confused in his recitation. When he finished, he said to Ubayy: "Did you pray with us?" He replied: "Yes." He said: "Then what prevented you [from prompting me]?" Seeking refuge and spitting lightly during prayer to ward off distractions
(أبو داود وابن حبان والطبراني) وسن ﷺ الفتح على الإمام إذا لبست عليه القراءة فقد (صلى صلاة فقرأ فيها فلبس عليه فلما انصرف قال لأبي: (أصليت معنا) قال: نعم قال: (فما منعك [أن تفتح علي])). الاستعاذة والتفل في الصلاة لدفع الوسوسة.
