(Aḥmad and al-Tirmidhī and he deemed it good) so (at times he would recite "By the sun and its brightness" (91:15) and similar sūrahs). (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) and (at times "When the sky is split open" (84:25) and he would prostrate with it). (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) and (once during a journey he recited "By the fig and the olive" (95:8) [in the first rakʿah]). He forbade lengthening the recitation in it, and that was when (Muʿādh ibn Jabal led his companions in the ʿIshāʾ prayer and prolonged it, so a man from the Anṣār left and prayed [alone]. Muʿādh was informed about him and said: He is a hypocrite. When this reached that man, he went to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and informed him of what Muʿādh had said. The Prophet ﷺ said to him. (al-Bukhārī, Muslim, and al-Nasāʾī) (Do you want to be a source of trial, O Muʿādh? When you lead the people in prayer, recite "By the sun and its brightness" (91:15), "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" (77:19), "Recite in the name of your Lord" (96:19), and "By the night when it covers" (92:21) [for behind you are the elderly, the weak, and those with needs]). (Ṣaḥīḥ) (and the Prophet ﷺ would sometimes recite aloud in it and sometimes silently, shortening the recitation in it)
