it was narrated to us by the noble Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Malik ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Bitnah al-Anṣārī in Mecca, as I read to him in the year 499. they said, Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī al-Nasawī, the jurist, informed us when he came to us in Mecca.
