and as for Abū Isḥāq from al-Ḥārith from ʿAlī, Abū Isḥāq did not hear from al-Ḥārith except four ḥadīth, and none of them is a single musnad. As for what is in the book of al-sunan of this kind, it is little, and perhaps al-Ḥārith al-Aʿwar has only one ḥadīth in the book of al-sunan, which I wrote down later. Sometimes there is in the ḥadīth what confirms the authenticity of the ḥadīth when it is hidden from me, so sometimes I leave the ḥadīth if I do not understand it, and sometimes I write it and clarify it, and sometimes I do not come across it. And sometimes I refrain from such matters because it is harmful to the general public to reveal to them everything that was from this category regarding the defects of the ḥadīth in the past
وَأما أَبُو أسْحَاق عَن الْحَارِث عَن عَليّ فَلم يسمع أَبُو إِسْحَاق من الْحَارِث إِلَّا أَرْبَعَة أَحَادِيث لَيْسَ فِيهَا مُسْند وَاحِد. وَأما مَا فِي كتاب السّنَن من هَذَا النَّحْو فقليل وَلَعَلَّ لَيْسَ لِلْحَارِثِ الْأَعْوَر فِي كتاب السّنَن إِلَّا حَدِيث وَاحِد فَإِنَّمَا كتبته بِأخرَة. وَرُبمَا كَانَ فِي الحَدِيث مَا تثبت صِحَة الحَدِيث مِنْهُ إِذا كَانَ يخفى ذَلِك عَليّ فَرُبمَا تركت الحَدِيث إِذا لم أفقهه وَرُبمَا كتبته وبينته وَرُبمَا لم أَقف عَلَيْهِ. وَرُبمَا أتوقف عَن مثل هَذِه لِأَنَّهُ ضَرَر على الْعَامَّة أَن يكْشف لَهُم كل مَا كَانَ من هَذَا الْبَاب فِيمَا مضى من عُيُوب الحَدِيث
