"If Allāh touches you with harm, none can remove it but Him, and if He touches you with good, He is over all things competent." (al-Anʿām, 17). And the Exalted said about the Friend [of Allāh] (al-Anʿām, 78-82): "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allāh. Indeed, I have turned my face toward Him who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allāh. And his people argued with him. He said, 'Do you argue with me concerning Allāh while He has guided me? And I do not fear what you associate with Him unless my Lord should will something.'" up to His saying: "Those who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice, it is they who will have security, and they are rightly guided." In the "Ṣaḥīḥayn," from ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), it is reported that when this verse was revealed, it was difficult for the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and they said: "O Messenger of Allāh, who among us has not mixed his faith with injustice?" He said: "It is only shirk. Have you not heard the saying of the righteous servant [Luqmān, 13]: 'Indeed, shirk is a great injustice'?" And Ibrāhīm, the Friend [of Allāh], is the leader of the sincere monotheists, as he was sent when the religion of the polytheists had spread over the earth. Allāh, the Exalted, said (al-Baqarah, 124): "And [mention] when his Lord tested Ibrāhīm with commands, and he fulfilled them. [Allāh] said, 'Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people.' [Ibrāhīm] said, 'And of my descendants?' [Allāh] said, 'My covenant does not include the wrongdoers.'" Thus, it is clarified that His covenant of leadership does not extend to the wrongdoer, so Allāh, glorified be He, did not command that a wrongdoer be a leader, and the greatest injustice is shirk. And the Exalted said (al-Naḥl, 120): "Indeed, Ibrāhīm was a community devoutly obedient to Allāh, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allāh." And the community is the teacher of goodness who is followed
