And the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: "And whoever desires other than Islam as religion—never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers." (Āl ʿImrān, 12) And His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allāh is Islam." (Āl ʿImrān, 3) And His saying, the Exalted: "And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way." (Al-Anʿām, 4) Mujāhid said: The ways are innovations and doubts. And from ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not from it, it is rejected." Both [al-Bukhārī and Muslim] reported it. In another wording: "Whoever does an action not in accordance with our matter, it is rejected." And al-Bukhārī reported from Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse."
