and for both of them, it is reported: "No child is born except upon the natural disposition, then his parents make him Jewish, Christian, or Magian, just as an animal gives birth to a perfect animal. Do you notice any mutilation in it until you mutilate it yourselves?" Then Abū Hurayrah recited: "the natural disposition of Allāh upon which He has created mankind" (agreed upon). Ḥudhayfah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) said: "People used to ask the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about good, but I asked him about evil, fearing that it might overtake me. So I said: O Messenger of Allāh, we were in ignorance and evil, then Allāh brought us this good. Will there be any evil after this good? He said: Yes. I said: And will there be any good after that evil? He said: Yes, but it will be tainted. I said: What will its taint be? He said: A people who will follow a path other than my sunnah and will be guided by something other than my guidance. You will recognize some of them and disapprove of others. I said: Will there be any evil after this good? He said: Yes, a blind trial and callers at the gates of Hell; whoever responds to them will be thrown into it. I said: O Messenger of Allāh, describe them to us. He said: They will be from our own people and speak our language. I said: O Messenger of Allāh, what do you command me if I encounter that? He said: Adhere to the community of Muslims and their leader. I said: What if they have neither community nor leader? He said: Then withdraw from all those factions, even if you have to bite on the root of a tree until death overtakes you while you are in that state." Both reported it, and Muslim added: "Then what? He said: Then the Dajjāl will emerge, with a river and fire. Whoever falls into his fire will have his reward assured and his burden lightened, and whoever falls into his river will have his burden assured and his reward lightened. I said: Then what? He said: That will be the establishment of the Hour." Abū al-ʿĀliyah said: "Learn Islam, and when you have learned it
ولهما مرفوعا: "ما من مولود يولد إلا على الفطرة، فأبواه يهودانه أو ينصرانه أو يمجسانه، كما تنتج البهيمة بهيمة جمعاء، هل تحسون فيها من جدعاء، حتى تكونوا أنتم تجدعونها". ثم قرأ أبو هريرة: ﴿فِطْرَتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا﴾ متفق عليه. وعن حذيفة ﵁ قال: "كان الناس يسألون رسول الله ﷺ عن الخير. وأنا أسأله عن الشر، مخافة أن يدركني. فقلت: يا رسول الله: إنا كنا في جاهلية وشر، فجاءنا الله بهذا الخير، فهل بعد هذا الخير من شر؟ قال: نعم. فقلت: وهل بعد هذا الشر من خير؟ قال: نعم، وفيه دخن. قلت وما دخنه؟ قال: قوم يستنون بغير سنتي، ويهتدون بغير هديي، تعرف منهم وتنكر. قلت: فهل بعد هذا الخير من شر؟ قال. نعم. فتنة عمياء، ودعاة على أبواب جهنم؛ مَنْ أجابَهم إليها قذفوه فيها. قلت: يا رسول الله، صفهم لنا. قال: قوم من جلدتنا ويتكلمون بألسنتنا. قلت: يا رسول الله ما تأمرني إن أدركت ذلك؟ قال: تلزم جماعة المسلمين وإمامهم. قلت: فإن لم يكن لهم جماعة ولا إمام؟ قال: فاعتزل تلك الفرق كلها، ولو أن تعض على أصل شجرة حتى يأتيك الموت وأنت على ذلك" أخرجاه، وزاد مسلم: "ثم ماذا؟ قال: ثم يخرج الدجال، معه نهر ونار. فمن وقع في ناره وجب أجره وحط وزره، ومن وقع في نهره وجب وزره وحط أجره. قلت: ثم ماذا؟ قال: هي قيام الساعة". وقال أبو العالية: (تعلموا الإسلام فإذا تعلمتموه
