"if you feel no shame, then do as you wish." As for the authentication by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Dhahabī and al-ʿAsqalānī, he concealed it from the readers because he has no response other than to say about them: "They are imitators!" And Allāh is the one whose help is sought. The man did not suffice with weakening the previous two ḥadīths, but he also added a third authentic ḥadīth that stood in the way of his desires, which is the saying of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "...and whoever breaks a row, Allāh will break him," and its isnād is authentic as I mentioned there. It has been authenticated by a group including Ibn Khuzaymah, al-Ḥākim, al-Mundhirī, al-Nawawī, al-Dhahabī, and al-ʿAsqalānī. That ailing one criticized it due to the mursal nature of al-Layth ibn Saʿd's narration of it and his omission of this phrase about breaking at the end of the ḥadīth, even though Ibn Wahb narrated it with an isnād from Ibn ʿUmar including the addition, and the addition of a trustworthy narrator is accepted by consensus. No one disagreed with this except this dissenter! Then he attempted to undermine its isnād and weaken it both musnad and mursal through Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ, saying: "There is disagreement about him, and what appears from the statements of the imams is that he is average, or less than average..." Let the readers consider how he does not settle on a judgment: "average, or less than average," in his attempt to weaken the ḥadīth from its origin, even though Muslim relied on him, and the opinion of all the later ḥadīth scholars, who are more knowledgeable about the disagreement he mentioned, settled on accepting his ḥadīth. Therefore, they continued to authenticate his ḥadīth. Al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Dhahabī said in his biography in "al-Siyar" (7/158): "The trustworthy, reliable imam, the judge of al-Andalus... and he was among the vessels of knowledge." Like one who butts a rock one day to weaken it... but it did not harm it, and the horn of the goat was weakened. In summary; I have become certain from my observation of his unjust weakening of the authentic ḥadīths established by the scholars of the ummah that the man is obsessed with opposition and contentiousness, disregarding their principles and judgments, clinging to the weakest of defects, even if they are like threads of the moon!
