do not be deceived by what is mentioned in some jurisprudential books from some scholars about the permissibility of a type with details mentioned therein, for it is merely a slip of a scholar, which would have been better buried and not mentioned were it not for foolish partisanship.

"he forbade blowing into the drink. A man said to him: O Messenger of Allāh, I do not quench my thirst in one breath. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to him: then remove the cup from your mouth, then breathe. He said: I see something floating in it. He said: then pour it out." It was narrated by Mālik (2/925/12) and from him by al-Tirmidhī (1/345), Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1367), al-Ḥākim (4/139), and Aḥmad (3/32), all from Mālik from Ayyūb ibn Ḥabīb, the client of Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, from Abū al-Muthanná al-Juhanī who said: "I was with Marwān ibn al-Ḥakam when Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī entered. Marwān ibn al-Ḥakam said to him: Did you hear from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he forbade blowing into the drink? Abū Saʿīd said to him: Yes, and a man said to him: O Messenger of Allāh..." the ḥadīth. al-Tirmidhī said: "This is a good and authentic ḥadīth." al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the isnād." and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: Faliḥ followed him from Ayyūb ibn Ḥabīb with it. It was narrated by Aḥmad (3/68-69)
