It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/398, 406). Mujālid is Ibn Saʿīd, and it is mentioned in "al-Taqrīb" that "he is not strong and he changed in the latter part of his life." I said: What is known from al-Shaʿbī is that he narrated it from Jābir ibn Samurah, as narrated by Ibn ʿAwn and Ibn Abī Hind as mentioned earlier, and Mujālid also narrated it in Aḥmad (5/88, 96), so I fear that this narration might be one of his mistakes. And Allāh knows best. Then I found the ḥadīth in "al-Mustadrak" (4/501) and it was said: "I cannot be lenient in this book about narrating from Mujālid and his peers." Thus he said.

- "O people, redeem yourselves from Allāh with Allāh's wealth. If any of you is stingy in giving his wealth to people, let him start with himself and give charity to himself, let him eat and clothe himself from what Allāh, the Almighty, has provided." It was recorded by al-Kharāʾiṭī in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" and its isnād is as follows (p. 54): Ḥammād ibn al-Ḥasan al-Warrāq narrated to us, Ḥibbān ibn Hilāl narrated to us, Sulaym ibn Ḥayyān narrated to us, Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl narrated from Abū Qatādah in a marfūʿ manner. And this isnād is authentic; all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for Sulaym ibn Ḥayyān, who is trustworthy as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb."
