as for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah: it was narrated by al-Bukhārī (4389) through the route of Thawr ibn Yazīd from Abū al-Ghayth from him, elevated, with the wording: "Faith is Yemeni, and the tribulation is here; here the horn of the devil will emerge." It also appears in "Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim" (1/52) and "Musnad Aḥmad" (2/252) through other routes. Then I saw the ḥadīth in "al-Maʿrifah wa-al-Tārīkh" (2/750) by al-Fasawī, and through his route: Ibn ʿAsākir (1/128) from al-Ḥasan... as a mursal. Its isnād to him is authentic.

- (Indeed, I disavow every close friend from his friend, and if I were to take a close friend, I would have taken Abū Bakr as a close friend; indeed, your companion is the close friend of Allāh). It was reported from the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd, Ibn ʿAbbās, Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr, Abū al-Muʿallá al-Anṣārī, Jundub al-Bajalī, Abū Hurayrah, ʿĀʾishah, Anas, Jābir, Abū Wāqid, and al-Barāʾ. 1- As for the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd; it has multiple routes from him: the first: Abū al-Aḥwaṣ—whose name is ʿAwf ibn Mālik—: it was narrated by Muslim (7/108 and 109), al-Tirmidhī (3655), Ibn Mājah (93), al-Nasāʾī in "al-Kubrā" (8104 and 1805), Ibn Ḥibbān (6855 and 6856), ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (20398), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (11/473 and 12/5), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (1/441-443), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (3866 and 3687)
