this... For a period of time, I included this ḥadīth in "The Series of Weak Ḥadīths," but then I realized that it has supporting evidence that necessitates its transfer to "The Authentic Series." Its sources have been previously mentioned; therefore, I refer to them so that readers are clear on the matter. I say: As for the first section, it was previously mentioned from the ḥadīth of ʿAbdullāh ibn Salām, narrated by several, including al-Tirmidhī, who authenticated it, and it was previously mentioned (569). As for the second section, it was mentioned from the ḥadīth of Saʿīd ibn Yazīd al-Anṣārī, narrated by Aḥmad and others with a good chain, and it was previously mentioned (741). As for the third and final section, it was previously mentioned from the ḥadīth of ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr, narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān and others with a good chain, and it was previously mentioned (1228). Thus, the ḥadīth is authentic, and all praise is due to Allāh. *

(Indeed, everything has a legacy and a remnant, and my legacy and remnant are the Anṣār, so protect me through them). I said: I did not find a biography for him except in "al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr" by al-Bukhārī, where he mentioned that he narrated from his father and heard from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), and Dāwūd ibn Rashīd said: ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUmar ibn Thābit Abū Saʿd al-Anṣārī narrated to us from his father ... and he related a report from ʿĀʾishah.
