the people of al-Ṣuffah used to spend the night in the mosque, and a man among them passed away. When his garment was opened, two dinars were found in it. The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Two small coins." It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in his "Muṣannaf" (1/421/1649). or asking people for more than needed, as mentioned in the report of Abū Bakr's freedman, and similar matters! And Allāh knows best.

"Indeed, charity extinguishes the heat of the graves for its people, and the believer is shaded by his charity on the Day of Resurrection." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (17/286/788): Yaḥyá ibn ʿUthmān ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to us: Saʿīd ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us: Rashdīn ibn Saʿd narrated to me, from ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith and Ibn Lahīʿah and al-Ḥasan ibn Thawbān from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from Abū al-Khayr from ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. From this chain and from this teacher: it was recorded by al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (3/212/3347), except that he said: from him: Abū Ṣāliḥ the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us: Ibn Lahīʿah and Rashdīn ibn Saʿd narrated to me from (!) al-Ḥasan ibn Thawbān from ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith and (!) Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from Abū al-Khayr.....with it. I say: I suspect that the phrase "from al-Ḥasan ibn Thawbān" is a mistake by the typesetter or copyist, and the correct form is "and al-Ḥasan ibn Thawbān," and conversely, the phrase later "and Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb" should be "from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb"; as in "al-Ṭabarānī"; (because ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith) is not of the same generation as (Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb); rather, he is one of his narrators; unlike (al-Ḥasan ibn Thawbān); for he is of the same generation as (Ibn Lahīʿah) and (Rashdīn)!
