fourthly, the aforementioned criticism does not apply to the narration of Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd from Ibn Lahīʿah; because it is authentic and akin to the narration of the ʿAbbādilah from him, as mentioned in the biography of Ibn Lahīʿah in "Siyar Aʿlām al-Nubalāʾ" (8/15), and this has been previously explained in several places. ********

It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (22/126/327): ʿAbdān ibn Aḥmad narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Khālid al-Kūfī narrated to us: Isḥāq ibn Manṣūr narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Salām ibn Ḥarb from Abū Rajāʾ from Abū Juḥayfah who said: I belched in the presence of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he said, "What did you eat, O Abū Juḥayfah?!" I said: Bread and meat, and he said... and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād consists of narrators all of whom are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for Muḥammad ibn Khālid al-Kūfī, and I think he is the one mentioned in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" (9/133): "Muḥammad ibn Khālid ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Tamīmī, Abū ʿAbd Allāh, Kūfī, narrates from Abū Nuʿaym and the people of his town, narrated to us by Muḥammad ibn al-Mundhir ibn Saʿīd and others." I said: I think it is him; because he is from this generation; for ʿAbdān ibn Aḥmad, the trustworthy ḥāfiẓ, is from the generation of Muḥammad ibn al-Mundhir ibn Saʿīd, the former died in the year three hundred and three, and the latter died in the year three hundred and six. His status was unclear to al-Haythamī, so he did not recognize him, and he said in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/31): "Narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" and "al-Kabīr" with isnāds, and in one of the isnāds of "al-Kabīr"
