"al-ʿUluw" (93/25), and "Ẓilāl al-Jannah" (1/276/622), and this ḥadīth is one of six ḥadīths in Muslim with this narration. This alone should have been enough to deter those ignorant ones from weakening the ḥadīth of the translation by this Jaʿfar, if they only knew! Especially since there are dozens of ḥadīths narrated by this Jaʿfar that the scholars have agreed upon their authenticity, both in the past and present, such as al-Tirmidhī, Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Ḥibbān, al-Ḥākim, al-Dhahabī, al-ʿAsqalānī, and others. These are well-known and scattered across various chapters of the books of the sunnah. Therefore, al-Dhahabī said in the biography of Jaʿfar in "al-Mughnī": "Truthful, righteous, reliable, weakened by Yaḥyá al-Qaṭṭān and others, he had a tendency towards Shīʿism, and he has what is rejected." He also said in "al-Kāshif": "Reliable, but with some issues, despite his extensive knowledge." Therefore, he included him in his book "Maʿrifat al-Ruwāt al-Mutakallam Fīhim bimā Lā Yūjib al-Radd" (pp. 81-82), and mentioned therein similar to what was previously stated. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful, ascetic, but he had a tendency towards Shīʿism." In summary: the man is truthful and a proof unless his error becomes apparent; like other reliable narrators who have some weakness. Their weakening of the ḥadīth by him indicates that they assume—due to their extreme ignorance—that any criticism of a narrator is an accepted wound, which is not accepted even by someone who is a beginner in this science. And Allāh is the one whose help is sought. *
العلو" (٩٣/٢٥) ، و"ظلال الجنة" (١/٢٧٦/٦٢٢) ، وهذا الحديث واحد من ستة أحاديث عند مسلم بهذه الرواية، ولقد كان هذا وحده يكفي رادعاً لهؤلاء الجهلة عن تضعيفهم لحديث الترجمة بجعفر هذا، لو كانوا يعلمون! فكيف وهناك عشرات الأحاديث من رواية جعفر هذا اتفق الحفاظ على تصحيحها قديماً وحديثاً، كالترمذي وابن خزيمة وابن حبان والحاكم والذهبي والعسقلاني وغيرهم؟! وهي معروفة مبثوثة في مختلف أبواب كتب السنة. ولذلك قال الذهبي في ترجمة جعفر من "المغني ":"صدوق، صالح، ثقة، ضعفه يحيى القطان وغيره، فيه تشيع، وله ما ينكر".وقال في "الكاشف ":"ثقة، فيه شيء، مع كثرة علومه ".ولذلك أورده في كتابه "معرفة الرواة المتكلم فيهم بما لا يوجب الرد" (ص ٨١ - ٨٢) ، وذكر فيه نحو ما تقدم.وقال الحافظ في "التقريب ":"صدوق زاهد، لكنه كان يتشيع ".والخلاصة: أن الرجل صدوق حجة ما لم يظهر خطؤه؛ كسائر الثقات الذين فيهم شيء من الضعف، فتضعيفهم للحديث به مما يشعر أنهم يظنون- لبالغ جهلهم- أن كل كلام في الراوي هو جرح مقبول، وهذا ما لا يقبله حتى من كان مبتدئاً في هذا العلم. والله المستعان. *
