your hands; for he transmitted the criticism of Abū Ḥātim and Ibn Naṣr regarding the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar, without realizing that it is confined to certain chains, and that the mentioned weakness—if conceded—does not necessitate the weakness of the ḥadīth due to its other chains and supporting evidence, including the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah in "Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim"; so take heed, O people of insight! *

- (You are not like me, the coolness of my eyes has been placed in prayer). It was narrated by Ibn Naṣr in "Taʿẓīm Qadr al-Ṣalāh" (p. 68/2): Yaḥyá ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us: Hāql narrated from al-Awzāʿī from Isḥāq ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ṭalḥah from Anas: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stood in prayer at night; and a woman was praying following his prayer. When he sensed her, he turned to her and said, "Lie down if you wish." She said, "I feel energetic!" He said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This is a sound isnād, all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim; except for Yaḥyá ibn ʿUthmān—who is Abū Zakarīyā al-Ḥarbī al-Baghdādī; Abū Zurʿah said: "Trustworthy." And Ibn Maʿīn said: "There is no harm in him," as mentioned in "al-Mīzān," "al-Taʿjīl," and "Tārīkh al-Islām" (17/403). They missed the statement of Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad Jazrah: "Truthful, and he was among the devout," as narrated by al-Khaṭīb (14/191). Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt," and said (9/263): "He might make mistakes sometimes."
