al-Dhahabī said about him: "Trustworthy, but there is something [questionable] despite his vast knowledge. It was said that he was illiterate, and he was among the ascetics of the Shīʿah." al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, ascetic, and inclined towards Shīʿism." I say: Such a person is relied upon by the scholars unless his error becomes apparent. And Allāh knows best. (Note): The name (Siyār ibn Ḥātim) was altered in "al-Daylamī" to (Sufyān al-Thawrī)! The commentator on "al-Firdaws" (4/172/6535) did not notice this and transmitted it with the error! And he did not comment on its isnād at all! al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth (2/287): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and its men are trustworthy."

Indeed, part of the completeness of your Islām is that you pay the zakāh on your wealth. It was recorded by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Āḥād wa-al-Mathānī" (4/309/2334): Yaʿqūb ibn Ḥumayd narrated to us: ʿĪsá ibn al-Ḥaḍramī ibn Kulthūm ibn ʿAlqamah ibn Nājah al-Khuzāʿī from his grandfather Kulthūm from his father: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to them in the year of (al-Muraysīʿ) when they accepted Islām: ... and he mentioned it. It was also recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (18/8/6): Aḥmad ibn ʿAmr al-Khallāl al-Makkī narrated to us: Yaʿqūb ibn Ḥumayd with the same isnād, and he added to the lineage of (Nājah), saying: (ibn al-Ḥārith al-Khuzāʿī)
