- (O Shaddād ibn Aws! If you see people hoarding gold and silver, then frequently say these words: O Allāh! I ask You for steadfastness in the matter, and determination upon guidance, and I ask You for the causes of Your mercy, and the resolutions of Your forgiveness, and I ask You for gratitude for Your blessing, and the best of worship of You, and I ask You for a sound heart, and a truthful tongue, and I ask You for the best of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know; indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.) It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (7/335-336), and through his route: Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (1/266), and likewise Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (16/127) through two routes from Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Raḥabī narrated to me from Abū al-Ashʿath al-Ṣanʿānī from Shaddād ibn Aws who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to me: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, its men are trustworthy, and there is some disagreement about some of them which does not harm: 1- Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān: He is the son of the daughter of Sharḥabīl Abū Ayyūb al-Dimashqī, al-Dhahabī said in "al-Kāshif": "A trustworthy mufti, but he narrates much from the weak." 2- Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh: Trustworthy in his narrations from the people of al-Shām, and this is among them as will come. 3- Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Raḥabī, who is from Damascus, has a biography in "Tārīkh Dimashq" by Ibn ʿAsākir (16/127), and it was noted that five others besides Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated from him
