that "al-Musnad" (6/274) has a sound chain of transmission, and this is part of his leniency which I have pointed out repeatedly! It is only sound due to what precedes it, and al-Ḥāfiẓ remained silent about it in "al-Fatḥ" (10/84). Moreover, the matter is not as Abū Ḥātim said—may Allāh have mercy on him—for it was also narrated from Yazīd by Mushmaʿill ibn Iyās, as in his biography in "al-Tahdhībayn," thus he is unknown in status, not unknown in identity. There is a supporting narration that is mawqūf, narrated by al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥakam from al-Ḥurr ibn al-Ṣayyāḥ who said: A man asked Ibn ʿUmar, "What do you think about drinking while standing?" Ibn ʿUmar replied, "I drink while standing, and I eat while walking." It was narrated by Ibn Abī Shaybah (4167). I say: Its chain of transmission is good. As for the bias of the one named (Ḥassān ʿAbd al-Manān) and his deviation from the sunnah: he asserted that the ḥadīth contains an error in its chain by Ḥafṣ ibn Ghiyāth. He said in his "Ḍaʿīfah," which he placed at the end of his edition of "Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn" by al-Nawawī (524/41): "as mentioned by Ibn Maʿīn, Ibn al-Madīnī, Aḥmad, and others, but it is actually the ḥadīth of Abū al-Bazrī (!) as in 'Musnad Aḥmad' (2/12) and elsewhere, and he is unknown." I say: Attributing his assertion of error to the three imams is one of his many deceptions; for only Ibn al-Madīnī decisively stated it, while Ibn Maʿīn said: "He was unique in narrating it, and I do not think he erred in it." Aḥmad said: "I do not know what that is?!" as if disapproving it
"المسند" (٦/٢٧٤) بأن إسناده صحيح، وهذا من تساهله الذي نبهت عليه مراراً! وإنما هو صحيح بما قبله، وقد سكت عليه الحافظ في "الفتح " (١٠/٨٤). على أن الأمر ليس كما قال أبو حاتم- ﵀، فقد روى عن يزيد- أيضاً- مشمعلّ بنُ إياس؛ كما في ترجمته من "التهذيبين "، فهو مجهول الحال، لا مجهول العين. وللحديث شاهد موقوف يرويه الحسن بن الحكم عن الحُرِّ بن الصَّيَّاح قال: سأل رجل ابن عمر فقال: ما ترى في الشرب قائماً؟ فقال ابن عمر: إني أشرب وأنا قائم، وآكل وأنا أمشي. رواه ابن أبي شيبة (٤١٦٧). قلت: وإسناده حسن. ومن بغي المسمى ب (حسان عبد المنان) وجنفه على السنة: جزمه بأن الحديث وهم في إسناده حفص بن غياث، قال في "ضعيفته " التي جعلها في آخر طبعته لكتاب "رياض الصالحين " للنووي (٥٢٤/ ٤١): "كما ذكر ذلك ابن معين وابن المديني وأحمد وغيرهم، وإنما هو حديث أبي البزري (!) كما في "مسند أحمد " (٢/١٢) وغيره، وهو مجهول ". قلت: وعزوه جزمه بالوهم إلى الأئمة الثلاثة من تدليساته الكثيرة؛ فإنه لم يجزم به إلا ابن المديني فقط، وأما ابن معين فقال: "تفرَّد به، وما أراه إلا وهم فيه ". وقال أحمد: "ما أدري ما ذاك؟! "؛ كالمنكر له.
