it was also recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (9/179-180) from the narration of Khabbāb ibn al-Aratt and Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, as if he had forgotten it when he said what was mentioned before. (Note): The commentator on "al-Iḥsān" (3/254) deemed the ḥadīth of Muḥammad ibn Fulayḥ to be good, but did not notice its contradiction with other chains of the ḥadīth, some of which are found in al-Bukhārī and Muslim, and his own narration in al-Bayhaqī. Also, when he cited the wording of al-Bukhārī, he did not attribute it to Muslim and attributed it to Aḥmad! This is an error in the art of referencing.

- "Listen and obey, for they are responsible for what they have been charged with, and you are responsible for what you have been charged with." It was recorded by Muslim (6/11), al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (2/2/73), Abū ʿAwānah in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (4/468-469), al-Tirmidhī (6/357/2220), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (8/158), and "al-Shuʿab" (6/61-62), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (22/16/20) through the route of Shuʿbah from Simāk ibn Ḥarb from ʿAlqamah ibn Wāʾil ibn Ḥujr from his father, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and a man asked him, saying: What if we have leaders who deny us our rights and demand their rights from us? The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth." It was also recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (137/1019) and al-Ṭabarānī (number 21) through other routes from Simāk. The ḥadīth was attributed by al-Nawawī in "al-Riyāḍ" to Muslim, and it was commented on by someone named (Ḥassān ʿAbd al-Manān) saying (p. 220): "There is a problem in its isnād!"
