and I say: If it is established in the sunnah that the imām may sometimes recite aloud in the silent prayer for the purpose of teaching, as found in "al-Ṣaḥīḥayn" and other sources: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would let them hear a verse in the ẓuhr and ʿaṣr prayers—this is documented in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd" (763)—and as authentically reported from ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that he would let them hear the opening supplication: "Subḥānaka Allāhumma..." al-Aswad ibn Yazīd said: "He would let us hear that and teach us"—this is documented in "al-Irwāʾ" (2/48-49). I say: If this is permissible, then it is even more permissible to raise the voice with remembrance after the prayer for the same purpose: teaching.
