"from the sunnah is that you do not go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr until you give the charity and eat something before you go out." It was recorded by Ibn Abī Shaybah (2/160) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (11/141-142). I said: Its narrators are trustworthy; however, al-Ḥajjāj is a mudallis, and he narrated with ʿanʿanah. Ibn Jurayj followed him from ʿAṭāʾ with it; except he said: "... until you eat, and not on the day of Eid al-Adha until you return." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (2/238/1006 - Majmaʿ al-Baḥrayn) through the route of Isḥāq ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Tamīmī al-Adanī: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUlayyah narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj with it. He said: "Isḥāq was unique in narrating it." I said: Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/120) from the narration of Bilāl ibn al-ʿAlāʾ from him. And this Bilāl, I did not find him neither with him nor with others, so he and his teacher Isḥāq are unknown. Therefore, al-Haythamī's statement: "and the isnād of al-Ṭabarānī is good" is not good; especially since Ibn Jurayj narrated with ʿanʿanah. However, it has been authentically reported from him that he explicitly stated the transmission, as ʿAbd al-Razzāq said (3/305/5734), and from him Aḥmad (1/313): Ibn Jurayj narrated to us: ʿAṭāʾ informed us: that he heard Ibn ʿAbbās saying: If you are able not to go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr until you eat, then do so. He said: I have not stopped eating before going out since I heard that from Ibn ʿAbbās, so I eat a morsel from the side of the dish, or drink milk or water
