as for his father: Abū Manṣūr, who is al-Azdī, I did not find a biography for him except in "al-Muqtañá fī Sard al-Kuná" by al-Dhahabī, where he said: "Abū Yazīd al-Azdī narrated from Abū Hurayrah, and from him Salām ibn Miskīn." It is possible that he is the one, but still, I do not know his condition.

- "If she had left it, it would have continued to grind or mill until the Day of Resurrection." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (2/41/2) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Dalāʾil" (6/105) through the chain of Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūnus: Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us from Hishām ibn Ḥassān from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn from Abū Hurayrah who said: A man was in need, so he went out to the wilderness, and his wife said: O Allāh, provide us with what we can knead and bake. The man returned to find the bowl full of dough, the oven with baked goods, and the mill grinding. He asked: Where did this come from? She replied: From the provision of Allāh. So he swept around the mill, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) mentioned it, and the narration is from al-Ṭabarānī, who said: "No one narrated it from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn except Hishām, and no one from him except Abū Bakr; Aḥmad was the only one who reported it." I say: He is trustworthy, from the men of the two Shaykhs, as well as those above him, except for Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh, who is from the men of al-Bukhārī, and there is slight criticism of him that does not lower his ḥadīth from the level of ḥasan, especially since there is another chain as will be mentioned. From this aspect, it was also narrated by al-Bazzār in "Musnad" (4/267/3687) who said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from Hishām except Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh."
