- "Abū Bakr set out during the time of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) as a trader to Buṣrá. Abū Bakr was not deterred by his devotion to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) from pursuing his share in trade, as they admired the profits of trade and loved it. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) did not prevent Abū Bakr from engaging in trade due to his love for his companionship and his regard for Abū Bakr—he was fond of his company—because the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) approved of trade and admired it." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (23 / 300 / 674): Ḥusayn ibn Isḥāq narrated to us: Abū al-Muʿāfā al-Ḥarrānī narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Salamah narrated to us from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥīm from Zayd ibn Abī Anīsah from al-Zuhrī from ʿAbd Allāh, the brother of Umm Salamah, who said: I heard Umm Salamah say, and he mentioned it. I said: This is a good isnād, its men are trustworthy and well-known from the men of "al-Tahdhīb" except for Ḥusayn ibn Isḥāq, who is al-Tustarī. Al-Dhahabī said in "Siyar Aʿlām al-Nubalāʾ" (14 / 57): "He was among the traveling preservers, and Abū al-Qāsim al-Ṭabarānī narrated extensively from him." I said: He has one ḥadīth in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" and five ḥadīths in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1 / 198 / 1 - 2 / 2617 - 2621). The ḥadīth has another isnād, as al-Ṭabarānī said in "al-Awsaṭ" (2 / 95 / 2 / 6524): Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr narrated to us, my father narrated to us from Mūsá ibn Aʿyan from Isḥāq ibn Rāshid from al-Zuhrī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Zamʿah who said: I heard Umm Salamah say, and he mentioned it, and he said:
